Wedding Day Inspiration Board

Monday, March 29th, 2010

The days of the basic silver and white or white and gold wedding day has passed Today weddings are bright and colorful, utilizing greens, reds, pinks, blacks, purples etc. Bright or subdued color has become a very important part of the wedding day planning process. One way to organize and plan your wedding day and make sure your color pallet does not clash at some point is to create a Wedding Inspiration Board, also called wedding story boards or wedding mood boards.

A Wedding Inspiration Board board is basically a collage of pictures, usually from magazines, swatches and drawings that help you pull together your wedding day color schemes and also decorating ideas and other details. Showing your board to your wedding planner / coordinator, florist, decorator, banquet manager will help them visualize and understand what you want your wedding to be and the mood you want to evoke.

Readers Some Help Please

Got a question from an up coming bride that I am drawing a blank on. Checked around and our contacts aren’t quite sure where to send her, so I’m turning it over to our readers what do you recommend, leave your answers in the comments!

Question: I am looking for a place to get married, preferably within 20 miles of south bend that is non-traditional. I do love the feel of a Copshaholm or Tippecanoe (vintage garden style) but I have been to so many weddings there.

I’m thinking something shabby chic or more of a rustic elegant feel (again vintage garden ok too). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. We are looking for something for June of 2011. Thank you in advance!
